Yea! I finally have a few pictures of Jonah, although the quality is poor. These are from our video camera, which takes nice video, the still shots leave much to be desired.

2 minute rule

I know most of us are all familiar with the 5 second or the 10 second rule when it relates to food, and I'm willing to bet that at one time or another you've actually eaten food off the floor. I have. (But, I never lived by the rule when I was working at the restaurant (Porter's Place)...nor was I ever tempted).
Anyway, recently, while reading the book, "Getting Things Done," I came across what I term the 2 Minute Rule. The author suggests that if a project takes less than 2 minutes to accomplish--just do it. Plain and simple. I'm guilty for having a lot of projects that take less than 2 minutes: paying a bill, washing a dish, making the bed, etc.
So, the other night Katie and i were getting ready for bed and I noticed my passport on my nightstand. My first instinct--habit--was to leave it there for some other time. But, I then stated to Katie, "I'm gonna put that away. It will take less than two minutes." Katie then complimented my discipline and--get this--my command of the circumstances. I was feeling very masculine. So, I took what actually turned out to be 30 seconds and upon accomplishing the task, Katie said, "Jerry, I have a project for you that will take less than 2 minutes... You can rub my shoulders. That takes less than 2 minutes."
So, a word to the wise. If you're going to commit to this rule, don't EVER explain why you are doing things. Just do them and move on. Even if you enjoyed the initial compliment, it will turn into a snowball effect of honey-dos.
Well, that's all.
