Book Review: Fahrenheit 451

Fahrenheit 451Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really really liked this book. I actually read it in high school, but didn't remember much about it. I liked it much better this time. Maybe because the world has already changed so much in the 12 years since I read it, or maybe because I'm older now and can appreciate the message so much more. I'm not sure why but I really seem to love all these dystopian novels. It reminded me of "Atlas Shrugged" and "The Giver". Easy quick read.

Nashville Half Marathon!

Well, I finally completed the half marathon! It was such a blast, I had the best time. Not only did I have such a fun trip, but my race went really well for me. It is really all in the training. I finished in 2:36:00. Which isn't the fastest time, but I felt great the whole time, which was my goal. I didn't care about my finishing time or my pace, I just didn't want to hit a point where I would just feel miserable, and I didn't!!!

Here we are seeing some of the sights of Nashville on Friday before the race.

This is the line to get into the expo (well part of the line, it went on and on and on, but luckily it moved really fast)

Bathroom or fitting room?
Starting Line. Can you see the 25,000 people behind us? There were 33,000 runners!!!! It took 40 minutes after the starting gun went off to even cross the STARTING line!!

We did it!!

Done finally!!
Danielle and Chris who did the full marathon, Paige and I who only did the half (thank goodness!)

Paige and I at the post race concert, Montgomery Gentry. It wasn't a band I normally would buy tickets to see, but it was a great show and just so much fun to go out and celebrate!

I am excited to do another race!!
