Book Review: Breaking Dawn

Breaking Dawn (Twilight, #4)Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I read this book when it first came out in 2008. I remember liking it a lot and I really wanted to read it again before the movie comes out in a couple weeks.

This book was Awesome and kinda boring alternately throughout. The wedding and honeymoon at the beginning were good, but then the Jacob part was tedious. Then the whole part in the middle where she has the baby was deliciously gory. (really, I'm not much for blood and gore, but this was SO well written and exciting-I LOVED it!) Then the story was tiresome-"then these vampires came, then those vampires came-blah blah". Then the ending was exciting again. I did love how it all works out with Jacob, because nobody had to be hurt and alone. I also really liked the section where Bella seeks out J. Jenks, because we finally get to see her interacting with the world, as a vampire, by herself. I really like her much better as a vampire, she isn't nearly annoying as she was human. I really hope that in the movie, when she becomes immortal, she really plays it differently then she did as a bumbling, fragile, clumsy human. I hope she's confident, articulate, and focused. I'm not sure that Kristen Stewart is capable of playing that way, but I'm hoping.

I am pretty excited for the movie to come out. I just watched Eclipse (I made Chris watch it too) and you were right, it was better than the others.
